It is STRONGLY encouraged that you, the teacher, practice creating these flexagons before giving the task to your students so you can answer their questions if they run into trouble. The instructions are detailed enough that most students were able to complete the task with minimal intervention from me. I was happy to see students exploring what else they could do with Mobius strips as well. When I used this in my own classroom, even students who were usually most reluctant were excited to create this unusual object.
